This week we visited Stonehenge, the City of Bath, and Hampton Court Palace. It was a great week for visits, though the weather has started to cool down. I was in love with Bath and how ancient the city still remains despite the modernizations of our world today. Bath truly is what I would consider a classical English city. It was even better that Jane Austen lived there for a time (though she didn't like it as much as her home in Hampshire). I got to go to see her museum and walk around the ancient Roman Ruins of Bath. The best highlight I'd have to say though was Hampton Court's gardens. They were magnificent. I literally could have stayed in the gardens all day sipping coffee and enjoying the fine weather. Great week!
Below is my picture at Stonehenge. No one really knows how it was built or why. Many theories surround the reasoning but to me it was sadly a bunch of rocks. We couldn't get close to the structure since it is to be preserved. However, it is amazing that some of the stones weight up to 40 tons and were moved from miles and miles away, dating back before the Romans came to England.
Above is the Jane Austen Centre. There's Jane and I, we're buds. And a friendly old bloke, we were tight.
Below is the site of the Ancient Roman Baths. The water was actually really warm!! All heated from natural hot springs!
Highlight of the week: 9/23-30
Got to see Buckingham palace AND go inside. Feeling like royalty of course, I stood where Kate and William did on their wedding day. Though it was disappointing not being able to see them in person. Kate's dress was amazingly detailed but the most exciting part is a met a girl (Anja) who actually did needle work on the dress!
Highlight of the week: 9/12-17
Went to Central London and got to see Big Ben! One of my biggest dreams came true. Now I just need to spot a member of the Royal Fam.
